Dr. Lickteig is the owner and chief optometrist of Lickteig Family Eyecare. He started the practice at the Dedham location in 2010. He grew the single location practice for several years and developed a very patient following in Dedham and also developed a very loyal staff in that time. In 2015, Dr. Lickteig acquired the Natick location and worked to improve it's systems to mimic his Dedham office. In 2016, his strong partnership with Lenscrafters became even stronger as they looked to him to develop and build his third practice site, the Lenscrafters at Macy's location within Boston's Downtown Crossing.

Dr. Lickteig still primarily sees patients in the Dedham office; however, he can be frequently seen at both the Natick and Boston offices as well. Dr. Lickteig strives to build his staff and team of optometrist to deliver the highest level of patient care. It is Dr. Lickteig's mission that he and his team of associate optometrists take the time with each individual patient to properly educate them of their vision and the overall health of their eyes.

Dr. Lickteig graduated from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biology and was a four-year letter winner on the Buena Vista baseball team. After graduating from college, Dr. Lickteig moved to Chicago where he worked his way to becoming an optometrist at the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Lickteig’s clinical rotations included low vision rehabilitation at the West Haven VA Hospital in West Haven, Connecticut, vision therapy at the Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Center in Englewood, Colorado and the Westside Family Vision Center in San Jose, California where he co-managed LASIK and cataract patients.

Dr. Lickteig is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists, the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Metrowest Chamber of Commerce. When Dr. Lickteig is not seeing patients he enjoys traveling, skiing, spending time with family and cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes.  He resides in Medfield with his wife, Kelly, his daughter, Annie, and their dog, Rigby.
