04/27/2020: Lickteig Family Eyecare COVID Update and Reopening Strategy
To the patients of Lickteig Family Eyecare:
We would like to thank our patients for the continued support they have given the practice over the past several weeks. Whether we have been able to assist you with your contact lens orders, extend your glasses prescriptions, or provide telehealth services to you, we are very grateful for your continued trust in us during these tumultuous times.
I would like to take this time to update our patients on the recent developments within the practice as well as outline our reopening strategy for each of our offices. Starting the week of April 26th, we have reopened our Dedham and Medford offices on a limited basis for ESSENTIAL CARE. Please click the link to highlight how we are defining ESSENTIAL CARE. It is important to note that during this time, we have implemented new office protocols that will ensure the safety of our patients, staff members, and doctors as we return to the offices. Some examples of these new protocols include but are not limited to:
- Providing personal protection equipment to our staff and doctors including latex gloves, eye shields, surgical masks, and N95 masks.
- Screening our patients and staff members for COVID-19 symptoms before entering our office.
- Requiring patients to have their face covered while present in the office.
- Controlling the flow of patients in and out of our office and restricting the amount of patients into the office at a time.
- Providing a mandatory hand sanitation station for patients to use upon entering the office.
- Altering our clinical protocols to continue to practice social distancing whenever we can while performing services.
- Implementing a STRICT no talk policy when the doctor is required to be in close proximity to a patient during their services.
- Sanitizing and disinfecting each room a patient visits directly after they leave a room.
All of our doctors are motivated to be there for our patients and we hope to build upon the hours of our ESSENTIAL CARE SERVICES with every passing week in the Dedham and Medford offices. Our offices in Natick and Boston are still closed and will remain closed until the Governor allows the Natick mall and downtown crossing Macy's to reopen. When they are allowed to reopen, we will implement all appropriate safety protocols.
It is also worth noting that starting this week, we will have a live person managing our call center between the hours of 10-5, Monday-Saturday. The number to our call center is (508) 906-6066. 03/23/2020: An Important Message from Lickteig Family Eyecare
To the Patients of Lickteig Family Eyecare:
On Monday, March 23rd, Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered a shelter-in-place for all Massachusetts residents beginning at noon on March 24th through April 7th due to the COVID-19 crisis. Although our offices are closed and we will be practicing social distancing with you, we are still committed to be here for you, our patients. Since we are unavailable in our offices, please call us at our administration number, (508) 906-6066 for scheduling, ordering, billing, or service needs/questions. We will be checking the voicemail regularly and being returning calls as soon as we can.
For those who are having difficulties with their eyes or their vision, *DO NOT VISIT AN URGENT CARE OR EMERGENCY ROOM*. Please call us at *(508) 906-6066* and leave us your name, call back number, and the issue you are having, and a doctor will get back to you as once. We will assess the urgency of your situation and address it remotely. This could save you an unnecessary trip to the ER. We are trying everything we can to lessen the burden of those places. We are currently looking into a more comprehensive telehealth service for our patients in the future, and you will receive information regarding that when it's available.
For our contact lens patients, if you are running low or have ran out of contact lenses, please call (508) 906-6066 and we will be able to help you order more. Our doctors will be very accommodating to your situation to make sure you have contact lenses during this time.
